Radiotherapy

High-energy radiation aimed at a cancer to destroy cancer cells or slow their growth. Radiotherapy damages the DNA of cancer cells so they stop dividing and die. It can be used to cure a cancer, to lower the chance of it coming back after surgery, or to ease symptoms.
