Gastrectomy for stomach cancer

Surgery to remove part or all of the stomach, along with nearby lymph nodes. A partial gastrectomy removes the part of the stomach with the cancer. A total gastrectomy removes the whole stomach and joins the esophagus directly to the small bowel.
