Biopsy
Taking a small sample of tissue so a pathologist can confirm whether cancer is present, and what kind. A biopsy removes a small piece of tissue or a sample of cells so it can be looked at under a microscope. In most cases it is the only way to know for certain whether a lump or a change on a scan is cancer.
